Who are we and what do we do?
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League is proud to be nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government, but always working on vital issues of concern to members and the public.
We are a volunteer organization and welcome you to join us.
We provide and work from facts. We educate. We advocate for change.
This special League program will focus on positive criminal justice solutions. Our speakers will include Judge Cedric Kearns of Las Vegas, and a case manager and addiction specialist who work with him in that city’s therapeutic courts.
The program will be moderated by Superior Court Judge Charles Snyder, who leads the drug court program in Whatcom County.
Join us to learn more about ideas and programs that are working to reduce and prevent incarceration. For more information about this League event, please contact Jill Bernstein at email@example.com.
