Where Visions Meet

About this event

Where visions meet film
We will meet in the historic Log Building on the Northwest Indian College campus to screen Where Visions Meet, a 20 minute documentary about two women trailblazers of the early 20th century.

Maria Montessori and Ellen Swallow Richards may never have met face to face, however, both overcame societal obstacles to improve living conditions for humankind at the turn of the twentieth century. The filmmaker Gail T. Longo will speak about her inspiration for this project and share some of the journey and talk about the many people who worked with her. After the film there will be time for questions.

Dr. Lexis Tom, the new president of the NWIC, is planning to share some of the history and mission of the NWIC and her own journey. A trailblazer in our time, she is the first woman president and is a Lummi Nation Tribal Member and an alumna of the Northwest Indian College. We are excited to bring this LWVBWC event to the Northwest Indian College and want to build on this connection over the next years.

Parking: Car pooling is encouraged, but there is a lot on the north side of Kwina Rd across from the church that is very close to the Log Building.  A League sandwich board will direct attendees. Click here to view a map.
