The public is invited to a lively and informative debate about the ballot measures that the voters will be asked to approve in the General Election on November 6.

  • Initiative 1634 – Prohibit Local Taxes on Groceries Measure

    Pro: Jim Desler, ‘Yes to Affordable Groceries’ and Con: Victor Colman, JD, Director, Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition

  • Initiative 1639 – Changes to Gun Ownership & Purchase Requirements Measure

Doors will open at 9:00 AM. Attendees will be encouraged to submit questions for the debate. The forum will be recorded and replayed on BTV 10 and the City of Bellingham YouTube Channel.

Who is debating? High school students from the Bellingham Unified Debate Club will debate Initiative 1639 concerning gun ownership. Representatives from the organized pro and con groups for the other initiatives will debate those measures.
