Good Trouble Lives On Rally

Becca J Verda | Published on 7/11/2025

Five years since the passing of Congressman John Lewis, communities across the country will take to the streets, courthouses, and community spaces to carry forward his fight for justice, voting, rights, and dignity for all.

We will be holding a rally in front of the Federal Building (104 W. Magnolia St., Bellingham) from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday July 17.  Get out your signs and flags and let’s Rally for Good Trouble.

Consistent with the League's view that we must persist and not just participate in rallies and protests once or twice—rather, continue to be active over and over again—all members are encouraged to participate in this new National Day of Action.

Some guidance:

  • The League believes one of the most important actions members can take is participation in the nonpartisan marches and rallies as described in the LWVUS Unite and Rise 8.5 initiative.
  • Please be sure your signage refers to issues, not people or political parties! We are objecting to the Constitution and rule of law not being followed. Our messaging needs to reflect that.
