Remembering Rebecca Johnson

After a short struggle with cancer, Rebecca Johnson passed away, too young, on March 12, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
According to League records, Rebecca has been a member since 2010, and in that time, held a number of leadership positions including co-President with Karen Funston. I met Rebecca when I became League president a few years ago knowing very little about the League. One of my first jobs was to fill out the depleted ranks of the Board. Rebecca was gracious enough to take on a one-year term as board secretary, and she became a crucial advisor during that first year, helping me to understand the culture of the League. Her knowledge was invaluable, her wisdom imparted with a smile.
More recently she has continued to support Voter Services work on the forums.
When I finally met Rebecca in person, I was struck by how tall she was! That's not obvious during Zoom meetings. But the smile was the same. Rebecca will be greatly missed.
