Building Bridges: A Community Dialogue with Local Police Chiefs

About this event

Audience with speaker
Join us for an evening of dialogue with local police chiefs. We have commitments at this time from Bellingham Police Chief Mertzig, Undersheriff Steve Harris, Blaine Police Chief Funk and the head of police at Western Washington University.

At a time when safety, transparency, and justice are at the front of our minds, we believe it's essential to come together to hear directly from officials who serve and protect us. We will have an opportunity to learn more about police training practices—particularly around implicit bias and community engagement—and to ask questions in a respectful, informative setting.

This event is part of our ongoing commitment to civic education and fostering informed, inclusive communities. Whether you're curious, concerned, or simply committed to building stronger relationships between law enforcement and residents, your voice and presence matter. Join us as we center truth, promote safety, and strengthen trust.
