About this event

Harneet Kaur Matharu will present a program for LWVBWC and open to the public on the local Punjabi Sikh community including key aspects of Punjabi and Sikh culture, the history of Sikhs in Washington including the 1907 eviction of Sikhs from Bellingham and the meaning of the Arch of Healing and Reconciliation.
Harneet Kaur Matharu is a presenter with the Chardi Kala Project which is an initiative that fosters connections between the Sikh community in Whatcom County and the broader public.
Please join us if you have ever wondered what it is like to be Punjabi in Whatcom County and what supports there are for this community. We will have time to visit and enjoy a cup of coffee after the talk.
This program is a result of the ongoing efforts of the RE/HD team to reach out and make connections with diverse communities in Whatcom County. Questions? president@lwvbellinghamwhatcom.org
