In Our Own Voice: The Lived Experience of Persons with Mental Health Conditions

About this event

What is it like to live with a mental condition? According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 20% of Americans will experience a mental health diagnosis during a given year and about half of all Americans will experience a mental illness diagnosis sometime during their lifetime.
In September, two volunteers from NAMI will educate us about what living with mental illness, particularly a severe episode of mental illness, is like. They will use accounts of folks' experiences with mental health challenges as well as videos to educate us. There will be ample time for questions.
